How to successfully launch on a marketplace
Today, within the Mir Detstva 2021 conference programme, the Forum on the Successful Launch of Children's Shops on Marketplaces: Real Cases, Statistics and Forecasts took place for the first time. The event was organised by XWAY, the largest operational partner of marketplaces. The forum was moderated by Anton Larin, expert in retail and ecommerce, co-founder of XWAY.
The forum participants answered the main questions: why one product sells and another does not, what profit each marketplace makes, how to launch sales on a marketplace quickly and efficiently and how to attract maximum customers.
At the Session Ecommerce in Russia, Trends and Prospects for Online Retail and the Children's Market, Vadim Solynin, Chief Operating Officer of XWAY, spoke about the stabilisation of the retail market, the growth of user interest in e-commerce, and which marketplaces to pay attention to. "Marketplace is the right direction to go. In 2020, the share of e-commerce has increased by 58% in Russia compared to 2019. And in the next 3-4 years, there will be no downward trend in interest in this segment. It is worth going on the marketplace if you are not already there. And if you are using it, expand and improve your sales," said Vadim Solynin. The speaker also pointed out that the "big three" - AliExpress, Wildberries, Ozon - remain at the top of e-commerce in Russia.
Ksenia Sapon, head of the Goods for Children and Mothers Department at AliExpress Russia, spoke about the current situation with the children's category on AliExpress, models for entering this marketplace, trends in the development of children on AliExpress and "tricks" of the platform.
Anastasia Bardina, Sales Head at Mart, spoke about working with the marketplace and the experience of the distributor of the world's leading toy brands in Russia.
Anton Larin, CEO of XWAY, presented the tips for successful product placement on marketplaces when launching a children's goods shop on marketplaces. Alexey Svetlovsky, CPO of XWAY examined real cases of why services for product placement on marketplaces are convenient and profitable for sellers.
The forum ended with the Discussion about Omnichannel Sales of Children's Goods: the Potential of your Business on Marketplaces, where experts considered cases, individual solutions for businesses and answered questions.
The forum participants showed that marketplaces for businesses are a great launching pad and a good sales channel to enter now.
