All attention to development of children’s goods industry in Russia
The Forum on Made in Russia: Development of the Children’s Goods Industry. Parents’ Choice was held at EXPOCENTRE. It ran as part of the conference programme of the CJF – Child and Junior Fashion 2023. Autumn and Mir Detstva 2023 exhibitions.
The event was organised by EXPOCENTRE AO with the support of the Expert and Educational Centre for Assistance to Prospective and Current Parents “Parents’ Choice”.
The central theme of the Forum, that brought together experts, manufacturers and distributors of a wide variety of products for children, was support for Russian companies producing goods for children.
The Forum session was chaired by Daria Brovkina, President of the Parents’ Choice Association of Manufacturers and Consumers of the Products for Children. The participants were welcomed by Tatyana Butskaya, the permanent leader of the parents’ movement and its ideological inspirer, First Deputy Chair at the Russian State Duma Committee on Issues of Family, Women and Children, Chair at the Board of the Council of Mothers Russian Public Organisation.
“We meet on the Mir Detstva platform every year and raise the most important, most pressing issues,” the deputy said, “and also congratulate the winners of the Parents’ Choice Award. Over many years of its existence, the award has changed. If at the very beginning, it was very important for us to know what kind of children’s goods parents choose, what they use, and what they recommend to their friends, now we have to focus on our, Russian manufacturers of children’s goods in order to support them. We realise how difficult it is for them at the moment, but I know for sure that we will succeed.”
During the Forum, the Parents’ Choice award winners were honoured, who were able to tell the audience about their success, share their thoughts, ideas and plans for further development of children’s goods production in Russia and increasing their competitiveness.
The participants of the meeting paid special attention to the Moms in Action project, which was presented in detail by Elena Danilevskaya, Federal Curator of the Council of Mothers, who emphasised the high efficiency of the work of the Council of Mothers ambassadors: expert customers who are interested in mass testing of products for children and give the most objective public assessment of such products, which directly affects both the improvement of the general culture of consumption and a more responsible attitude of manufacturers to the quality of the products made.
A separate issue on the Forum’s agenda was discussion of the practice of implementing the Gift Number One project. It is about giving a gift to every newborn baby in the country. “Every baby is important to us,” emphasised Tatyana Butskaya. “We also support with Gift Number One our manufacturers who produce the best goods. It is important that our parents, our children get only the best children’s goods.”
Representatives of companies making products for children noted a positive trend towards saturation of the domestic market with domestic quality raw materials, which makes it possible to produce goods not worse, and often even better than foreign analogues. In the centre of the discussion was the Gift Number One composition. Many representatives of the companies gave strong arguments for expanding the composition of the gift and were able to express their proposals, which will be further reflected in the final recommendations of the Forum.
Important aspects of further development of the children’s goods industry in Russia were also touched upon at the CJF – Child and Junior Fashion 2023.
